    10 October – is the Foundation Day of the Worker’s Party of Korea. There will be various festivities on this occasion including amazing Mass Dance in one of the main Pyongyang’s squares. In this tour you will have a unique opportunity not only to visit major attractions of the capital but also to see rarely visited by foreigners ancient relics of Pyongyang and experience unique Trolley bus ride in one of the original public vehicles dated back to 1950th. October is the best time to enjoy autumn leaves in beautiful Mt.Myohyang where you will have an easy hike

    • Pyongyang - enjoy festivities on the occasion of the Party Foundation Day and discover hidden treasures of the capital. Visit Kumsusan Palace of Sun for president Kim Il Sung and for the leader Kim Jong Il
    • Mass Dance - local students get together and dance in one of the main capital’s square
    • Trolley bus ride - experience unique ride over the capital in one of the original public buses dated back to 1950th
    • Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) - inspect one of the most heavily militarized places on the planet. This strip of land divides South and North Korea. Visit Kaesong - the ancient capital of Korea until up to the 15th century. It is the only city in Korea which has preserved its original historical make up as it hasn’t been destroyed during the Korean war
    • Visit International Friendship Exhibition in Mt.Myohyang - one of the five celebrated mountains of Korea

    Oct 7 (Sat): Pyongyang

    Arrival in Pyongyang

    • Depart from Beijing by Air Koryo flight JS 152 Beijing-Pyongyang at 12.55 from TERMINAL 2, Beijing Capital Airport . Arrive in Pyongyang at 15.30 local time
    • Transfer to Pyongyang
    • Take ride in Pyongyang Metro - one of the deepest subways in the world, it was designed to serve as a bomb shelter in case of war. The stations' interiors are stunning with superb lighting and mosaics. This is a great chance to interact with local people and explore several subway stations
    • Stop by Arch of Triumph - built in 1982 to commemorate President Kim Il Sung’s role in resisting Japanese rule, it is the second tallest triumphal arch in the world. Each of its 25,500 blocks of finely-dressed white granite represents a day of his life up to that point
    • Continue evening in Kaeson Youth Funfair - one of the most popular amusement parks and nightspots in Pyongyang, it was recently renovated. This is a great place to observe local people and take pictures with them
    • Check-in at the Yanggakdo International Hotel **** - one of the best Pyongyang hotels (first class and deluxe suits are also available at extra charge), it is beautifully located in the middle of Taedong river
    • Dinner at the hotel

    Oct 8 (Sun): Pyongyang Kaesong

    • Breakfast in the hotel
    • Visit incredible Kumsusan Palace of Sun - Mausoleum of president Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il. To visit the Mausoleum tourists should follow a strict dress code: no shorts, T-shirts and sandals, no blue jeans and mini-skirts
    • Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery - a cemetery and memorial to the North Korean soldiers fighting for freedom and independence against Japanese rule
    • Move to Moranbong Park - a recreation area where locals have picnics and sing songs during weekends. It is a unique opportunity to socialize with local people
    • Lunch on the pleasure boat in Taedong river
    • Transfer to Kim Il Sung Square - Pyongyang’s central square where Korea’s massive military parades normally take place. Opened in August Juche 43 (1954) it is the 30th largest square in the world
    • Head to Taedong Park - a great place a few minutes away from Kim Il Sung Square to enjoy a peaceful park and a walk along the Taedong river
    • Pyongyang Bell - national treasure, it was rung to announce invasions, natural disasters, New Year's Day and other major events. The current bell was cast in 1726 during the Ri dynasty to replace an earlier one that was destroyed by fire in 1714. Walk along the Taedong river to Taedong Gate - built in the mid-6th century, it is the east gate of the inner castle of the Walled City of Pyongyang (Pyongyang Castle, Koguryo dynasty) situated on the bank of River Taedong. Ryonggwang Pavillion - one of the 8 scenic wonders of western part of Korea
    • NEW! Walk from Kim Il Sung Square to Pyongyang Grand Theatre - opened 1960, it is a huge statement of socialist cultural superiority situated in the very center of Pyongyang
    • Drive to Kaesong - capital of Korea up to the 15th century. Kaesong is the only city in Korea which has preserved its original historical make up as it hasn't been destroyed during the Korean war. It is a home for 12 historic sites from the UNESCO World Heritage List. Kaesong is considered to be home of Koryo insam (ginseng) and so be prepared to buy some of the best insam in the Far East
    • Check in the hotel Minsok Folk Hotel ** - a cosy hotel located in the old center of Kaesong. It consists of 20 traditional Korean houses all off a courtyard, and featuring a charming stream running through it. It’s fascinating and far more atmospheric than anywhere else you’ll stay in the country
    • Dinner at traditional Korean restaurant - you will be enjoying eating your dinner in a Korean way on the floor

    Oct 9 (Mon): Kaesong Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) Kaesong Pyongyang

    • Breakfast in the hotel
    • Walk through one of the Kaesong Traditional Folk Streets
    • Janamsan Park - located on a hill overlooking the city it is a great place to enjoy the beautiful panorama of the old Kaesong
    • Sonjuk Bridge - a small stone bridge dating back to 1216, UNESCO World Heritage Site
    • Drive to Tomb of King Kongmin - UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is the original mausoleum of the 31st king of the Koryo Dynasty - King Kongmin and his Queen dated back to 14th century
    • Move to Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) - a strip of land running across the Korean Peninsula that serves as a buffer zone between North and South Korea, it is one of the most militarized area on our planet
    • Panmunjom - a village where in 1953 Armistice Talks were held between the DPR Korea and the United Nation Command. Visit the blue tent-like building located exactly on the borderline between Koreas. You can walk around the conference room and hop from South to North Korea while you are in this building. This is one of the few places where you can take pictures of the DPRK military
    • On the way back to Pyongyang have lunch at Tongil restaurant - "Tongil" means "Reunification" in Korean, it is one of the most famous restaurants in Kaesong where you can experience royal meal with multiple side-dishes. For anyone wanting to supplement their lunch, there will be an opportunity to sample Korea’s famous ginseng chicken soup (at extra charge)
    • Monument to the Three Charters for National Reunification - the monument representing desire of Korean people for reunification. It is shaped in form of two Korean women holding Korean peninsula over the Thongil highway from Pyongyang to DMZ
    • Visit one of the finest museums of the DPRK Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum - unveiled in 2013 by the leader Kim Jong Un after massive renovation this museum explains the origins of the Korean War (1950-53) between South and North. Here you will see the only US ship captured by a foreign country - the spy ship USS Pueblo, as well as American weapons and shot down planes. The museum features amazing displays and excellent dioramas
    • Have dinner in one of Pyongyang’s restaurants

    Oct 10 (Tue): Pyongyang

    THE FOUNDATION DAY OF THE WORKER’S PARTY OF KOREA

    • Breakfast in the hotel
    • Walk in Mansudae Fountain Park - composed of many beautifully designed in shape of dancing women fountains, this park is a place to enjoy jets of water reaching up to 80 meters
    • Visit majestic Mansudae Grand Monument - the huge bronze statues of the leaders standing in the center of the composition with two monuments titled "Anti-Japanese Revolutionary Struggle" and "Socialist Construction" on both sides. It was renovated in April 2012 following the passing away of the leader Kim Jong Il and a new statue of Kim Jong Il was added next to Kim Il Sung's
    • Explore Military Hardware Exhibition House of the Korean People's Army - one of the finest, most impressive museums in the DPRK offering an amazing display different kinds of weapons and combat equipment: small arms, artillery, tanks, warships, aircrafts and strategic rockets produced at munitions factories of the DPRK
    • Lunch
    • Drive to Pyongyang Railway Station
    • NEW! Experience unique Trolley bus ride - see the streets of the capital from the iconic worker's transport which is still used only in some other former socialist states! It is a classic vehicle from 1950s which is still in service on the streets of Pyongyang. The route starts at Pyongyang Railway Station and ends at Arch of Triumph with stop at Chollima Monument
    • Enjoy circus performance in Pyongyang Circus - one of two main circuses in Pyongyang where you can see fun and entertaining performance (20 Euro)
    • Observe Pyongyang from the top of Juche Tower - at 150m it is the highest stone monument in the world. Take elevator to the top of the tower to enjoy the magnificent view of Pyongyang (optional, 5 Euro p/p)
    • Visit Pyongyang Schoolchildren’s Palace - one of 2 major centers of extra curriculum education built for the Korean Communist Youth of Pyongyang. There will be a chance to see a performance prepared by local children
    • Visit Monument to Workers' Party of Korea - opened in Juche 84 (1995) the monument depicts the hammer, sickle and brush seized by a worker, a farmer and an intellectual. The round belt means the single-hearted unity of the leader, Party and people
    • Enjoy Mass Dance - one of the most well known images of North Korea: students of local universities get on the main city's squares and dance dressed in traditional Korean suit
    • Dinner in one of the Pyongyang’s restaurants

    Oct 11 (Wed): Pyongyang Mt.Myohyang Pyongyang

    • Breakfast in the hotel
    • Drive to Mt.Myohyang - the Mountain of Mysterious Fragrance, one of the five celebrated mountains of Korea. It is a sacred site as, according to legend, it was the home of King Tangun, forefather of the Korean people. In 2009 UNESCO designated Mount Myohyang a world biosphere reserve
    • Upon arrival visit grandiose International Friendship Exhibition - the world's biggest treasure-house. On exhibit are gifts received by DPRK's leaders over the years. One building stores the presents given to President Kim Il Sung, while a smaller one holds those given to Leader Kim Jong Il
    • After impressing exhibition relax in tranquil Pohyon temple - one of the five famous Buddhist temples of Korea, it was built nearly 1,000 years ago
    • Enjoy your lunch
    • Manphok valley - "Manphok" means in Korean "valley of ten thousands falls". Enjoy beautiful hermitages, rocks, caves, falls, and pavilions
    • Drive back to Pyongyang
    • Continue evening in Pyongyang microbrewery and bar - try several types of locally brewed beer and wide variety of international cuisine (at your own expense)
    • Dinner

    • After breakfast in the hotel transfer to the airport and depart by Air Koryo flight JS 251Y Pyongyang-Beijing at 10.00 in the morning from Pyongyang Airport . Arrive in Beijing at 11.30 in the morning (local time)
