    Come to celebrate the Day of the Shining Star, the 75th anniversary of the leader Kim Jong Il's birth. On this occasion there will be spectacular Flower exhibition dedicated to ‘Kimilsungia’ and ‘Kimjongilia’ flowers, and annual International Ice Skating Championship ‘Paektusan Prize’.
    Spend one full day / one night skiing on the slopes of North Korea’s only ski resort Masik Pass Ski Resort. Opened in January 2013 it is the first major ski resort in the DPRK, it features ten advanced and two beginner slopes. Try it out!

    Feb 14 (Tue): Pyongyang

    Arrival in Pyongyang

    • Depart from Beijing by Air Koryo flight JS 152 Beijing-Pyongyang at 12.55 from TERMINAL 2, Beijing Capital Airport . Arrive in Pyongyang at 15.30 local time
    • Transfer to Pyongyang
    • Stop by Arch of Triumph - built in 1982 to commemorate President Kim Il Sung’s role in resisting Japanese rule, it is the second tallest triumphal arch in the world. Each of its 25,500 blocks of finely-dressed white granite represents a day of his life up to that point
    • Check-in at the Yanggakdo International Hotel **** - one of the best Pyongyang hotels (first class and deluxe suits are also available at extra charge), it is beautifully located in the middle of Taedong river
    • Dinner at the hotel

    Feb 15 (Wed): Pyongyang Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) Sariwon Pyongyang

    • Breakfast in the hotel
    • Drive to Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) - a strip of land running across the Korean Peninsula that serves as a buffer zone between North and South Korea, it is one of the most militarized area on our planet
    • Explore Panmunjom - a village where in 1953 Armistice Talks were held between the DPR Korea and the United Nation Command. Visit the blue tent-like building located exactly on the borderline between Koreas. You can walk around the conference room and hop from South to North Korea while you are in this building. This is one of the few places where you can take pictures of the DPRK military
    • Drive to Sariwon - the southern gateway to Pyongyang. With population well above 300,000 Sariwon is one the most densely populated cities of the DPRK and it is famous for its Maccoli - Korean traditional rice wine
    • Enjoy lunch
    • Experience Sariwon Folk Customs Street - great place to see Korean traditions and customs
    • Explore Mt.Jongbang - 481m high mountain near Sariwon famous for its many spots to enjoy beautiful landscapes and historical fort dated back to Koryo Dynasty
    • Stop by Songbul Temple - one of the famous temples in Korea. It was first built in 898 and later rebuilt in Koryo dynasty
    • Drive back to Pyongyang. On the way back there will be a short photo-break at Monument to the Three Charters for National Reunification - the monument representing desire of Korean people for reunification. It is shaped in form of two Korean women holding Korean peninsula over the Thongil highway from Pyongyang to DMZ

    Day of the Shining Star

    • Breakfast in the hotel
    • Experience the incredible Kumsusan Palace of Sun - Mausoleum for president Kim Il Sung and for the leader Kim Jong Il. To visit the Mausoleum tourists should follow a strict dress code: no shorts, T-shirts and sandals, no blue jeans and mini-skirts
    • Observe Pyongyang from the top of Juche Tower - at 150m it is the highest stone monument in the world. Take elevator to the top of the tower to enjoy the magnificent view of Pyongyang (optional, 5 Euro p/p)
    • Visit Monument to Workers' Party of Korea - opened in Juche 84 (1995) the monument depicts the hammer, sickle and brush seized by a worker, a farmer and an intellectual. The round belt means the single-hearted unity of the leader, Party and people
    • Lunch
    • Drive to Pyongsong - Korea's Silicon Valley focusing on leading space researches. Only in 2014 this city was opened for foreign visitors
    • Explore Paeksong Revolutionary Site - the place to which Kim Il Sung University was moved during the Korean War
    • Visit Kim Jong Suk Middle School - named after the mother of Kim Jong Il it is one of the best schools in the DPRK for talented children from the whole country. For some English-language learners in this school you can be the first opportunity to converse with foreign visitors
    • Drive back to Pyongyang
    • Take ride in Pyongyang Metro - one of the deepest subways in the world, it was designed to serve as a bomb shelter in case of war. The stations' interiors are stunning with superb lighting and mosaics. This is a great chance to interact with local people and explore several subway stations
    • Explore Arch of Triumph
    • Have dinner

    Feb 17 (Fri): Pyongyang

    • Breakfast in the hotel
    • Start your day with excursion to majestic Mansudae Grand Monument - the huge bronze statues of the leaders standing in the center of the composition with two monuments titled "Anti-Japanese Revolutionary Struggle" and "Socialist Construction" on both sides. It was renovated in April 2012 following the passing away of the leader Kim Jong Il and a new statue of Kim Jong Il was added next to Kim Il Sung's
    • Behind the Grand Mansudae Monuments don’t miss Chollima Monument - named after a mythical winged horse (Chollima in Korean literally means "thousand-mile horse"). In the period of reconstruction following the Korean War Cholima was the symbol inspiring workers to rebuild their nation at ‘Chollima Speed’
    • Mansudae Fountain Park - composed of many beautifully designed in shape of dancing women fountains, this park is a place to enjoy jets of water reaching up to 80 meters
    • Visit Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum - unveiled in 2013 by the leader Kim Jong Un after massive renovation this museum explains the origins of the Korean War (1950-53) between South and North. Here you will see the only US ship captured by a foreign country - the spy ship USS Pueblo, as well as American weapons and shot down planes. The museum features amazing displays and excellent dioramas
    • Move to Kim Il Sung Square - Pyongyang’s central square where Korea’s massive military parades normally take place. Opened in August Juche 43 (1954) it is the 30th largest square in the world
    • Stop by Pyongyang Foreign Language Book Shop - the popular shop where you can buy propaganda posters, books and other souvenirs
    • Have lunch
    • Visit unique Flower exhibition - a show mainly dedicated to Kimilsungia and Kimjongilia, two flowers named after Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il. Every year there are about 30,000 flowers presented by Army forces, commissions and ministries of the cabinet and national institutions, foreign friends and overseas compatriots. It is a great chance to buy roots of these beautiful flowers for your garden
    • Attend International "Paektusan Prize" Figure Skating Festival (about 20 Euro) in Pyongyang Ice Rink - specialized stadium completed in 1981. The rink resembles a skater’s cap
    • Enjoy Synchronised Swimming (about 10 Euro) or entertaining performance in Korean People Army's Circus - opened in Juche 53 (1964) to host about 1600 spectators. Entertaining performance at extra cost (20 Euro)
    • Join in Mass Dance - one of the most well known images of North Korea: students of local universities get on the main city's squares and dance dressed in traditional Korean suit
    • Enjoy farewell dinner in famous BBQ Duck Restaurant
    • Continue evening in Pyongyang microbrewery and bar - try several types of locally brewed beer and wide variety of international cuisine (at your own expense)

    • Move to Masik Pass Ski Resort - newly opened world class ski resort with deluxe hotel located 40min away from Wonsan. In summer time it is a perfect place for a night or lunch stop
    • Lunch
    • The Masik Ski Resort was opened in January 2013, it is the first major ski resort in the DPRK. It features 9 major slopes and two runs for beginners. You can rent any ski equipment (helmet, goggles, gloves, jacket, trousers,skis, and poles) or you can bring your own clothes and equipment. You will have to buy on the spot a ski pass and pay for rental of any ski equipment (approx. $70 per day for the full set)
